I’ve been thinking about my vision and big goals for next year. Imagining what I want/don’t want next year. I did this exercise with several clients this week. I asked them to take out a sheet of paper and write on the left side ‘what I want more of in my life’ and on the right side ‘what I want less of in my life’.
Then, on a second sheet, write ‘what’s working’ and ‘what’s not working.’
Another great variation on this is to write ‘what I’m doing that I shouldn’t been doing’ and ‘what I’m not doing that I should be doing’. This list gives you a list of your new year’s resolutions! It can also give you your list of things you should be delegating to an assistant to free yourself up to focus only on those activites that are your strengths and that you enjoy doing.
Most people have never defined the life they truly want. They may have a dream, but not a clear vision of what they really want for their life and work.
People who assess their current situation and write down the goals they want to achieve in the future have a much better chance of succeeding at growing their business and living a life that takes them in the direction they want to go.
What’s your vision for 2008?
