I had a call today with my coach. We talked about one of my biggest distractions that has kept me in the past from being as successful as I would like to be: being busy. One of my strengths is multitasking, but the downside of that is that I try to do too many things at once. I lose sight of the most important activities that will bring me closer to my goals.
So, I am once again committing to having only three things on my to-do list each day – not the 15 or 20 or items I would typically have. Each week, I will determine my top 3 priorities based on my vision and strategic objectives. I’ll choose only 3 tasks each day that will bring me closer to those objectives, and I will either complete them or delegate them by the end of that day. If I notice myself starting to do that fourth thing, I’ll stop and make the choice to re-focus. I’m going to encourage my mind to start catching me when I start to do more than one thing at a time. ‘Keep it Simple’ will be my mantra.
I’ll let you know how it goes!
