FAQ Interview with Jan Marie Dore, MCC

How long have you been doing what you do?

I have been coaching, mentoring, training and consulting with women in business since I started my company in 1997. In my corporate career, I held senior financial roles as a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) for many years in several organizations and at a university, after receiving my BA in Philosophy. I started “Femalepreneurs.com” to meet the growing need I saw for women to receive the skills, information, mentoring and support to grow their business.

I have been honored to have played a pivotal role in helping thousands of women business owners get on the path to more success, meaning, and income by mentoring them to develop their natural talents and teaching them effective strategies to stand out, get ahead, and communicate with confidence. My clients are professional women worldwide who are inspiring and leading change and making a difference in people’s lives. My passion is to teach these women new business models and strategies to get their voice out to more people and feel more fulfilled in their business as they make their greatest contribution.

What qualifies you to be a business coach?

Before I started my business, I completed training as both a small business and corporate coach and as a financial management consultant. From my own experience as a successful business owner for more than ten years, I have learned through many years of trial and error and through extensive business training and mentoring what works and what doesn’t work to market and grow a business – and I share all of that learning with my clients.

I regularly speak to business groups, professional associations and conferences on marketing, sales and entrepreneurial topics, and I have taught small business marketing and sales courses at the college level.

I was one of the first Canadians to achieve the highest professional coach designation from the International Coach Federation of Master Certified Coach (MCC). I also hold the coaching designations of Certified Corporate Coach and Professional Mentor Coach. I have been on the faculty of Coach U and Corporate Coach University for many years, where I have trained and mentored thousands of professional executive, business and life coaches around the world.

Who are your clients exactly?

I work with independent women service professionals who have a purpose or a message they want to get out to more people and willing to do whatever it takes to grow their business, their income – and themselves. These women are really talented at what they do, but often they’ve never been taught exactly how to create a strategy to sign up more clients consistently or to set up systems so they can get to higher levels of income.

Independent Service Professionals such as:

  • coaches
  • consultants
  • speakers
  • trainers
  • advisors
  • designers
  • planners
  • authors
  • healers
  • holistic practitioners
  • . . . and many other types of service professionals and “expert entrepreneurs”.

What type of person do you work best with?

I work best work with small business professionals who are ready to commit, take action, and do whatever it takes to achieve success on their own terms and take their business to the next level. Women who have trained in their profession or expertise, who have worked with a number of clients, and have learned some of the general basics about running a business, but need help to develop a specific strategy to take their business to higher levels of income and fulfillment. Consider what you’ll do with me to be an action learning course. You will be expected to take serious and consistent action.

For what type of professional are your programs NOT going to work?

Anyone who wants just a hobby or a part-time business is not a good fit for the type of coaching I offer. I work best with professionals who are full-time committed and ready to build a thriving business.

That said, I do offer free information that will get you started toward your goals until you’re ready to work with me in one of my programs. I send out regular tips by email (Click here to subscribe.) I also publish a blog on marketing, sales and business growth tips for women. What results can I expect in working with you?

You can absolutely expect meaningful, measurable and sustainable results when working with me! Because my specialty is very narrow, what you get with me is specific expertise on exactly what works for independent professionals.

How quickly can I expect results?

I am committed 100% to your success and to giving you everything you need and providing accountability for you to achieve the results you want. The speed at which you achieve results will depend on which level of program you sign up for, your level of commitment, and how much time and effort you put into the assignments that we give you.

For example, with my VIP One Day Intensive, you will experience significant results immediately. If you need to first learn foundational business basics in my training program, you will start to see results even in the first month as you begin to make the changes in the way we teach you how to run your business and sign up more clients.

That said, virtually all clients see results quickly because it’s easy for me to spot the gaps in your business strategy and to show you how to shift your thinking so you start experiencing positive changes right away.

Will I recover the investment I put into your programs?

Yes absolutely – when you do the work! My programs are designed to teach small business professionals and expert entrepreneurs how to sign up more clients easily and authentically and how to increase their income. You’re investing in, results, more revenue, more profit, more clients, not just more “information.”

For some of my programs, if you sign up just one or two new clients, you will recover your investment almost immediately. Ask yourself, “What is a new client worth to me, and what is the lifetime revenue I can make from that one client?” Chances are, that amount will more than cover your coaching investment. And, since this is business coaching, consulting and training, in most cases, you can deduct your investment as a business expense on your tax return (check with your accountant).
